What are the benefits of having a personal trainer?
Better. Safer. Faster.
In Calgary, fitness has always been a priority. Due to the pandemic and consequential lockdown, we have transformed the way we do fitness everyday. Many local gyms were forced to close their doors or swap to a virtual version over video conferencing or spreadsheet programming. This left personal trainers with the burden of having to figure out how to keep their clients motivated and living a healthy, active lifestyle during a time that none of us could predict.
Personal trainers, pre-pandemic, held us accountable – especially during times where we seriously lacked the self-motivation to get ourselves in gear and do a workout.
During lockdown, our motivation has been at an all-time low. Fortunately, personal trainers can help with that. And, as we know, physical activity is a great aid to reducing our stress.
But is a personal trainer just another cost to tack on with your gym membership? Here are some of the benefits of working with a personal trainer.
Personal trainers hold you accountable
We’ve all been there. It’s been a rough day, week, month, etc., and we just don’t feel like giving it our all at the gym today – or going at all. A personal trainer can help you stay committed to your goals, offer you motivation, or just…get you going, plain and simple. It’s easy to fall back and take it easy (or even skip a session altogether) when you workout on your own.
Having a personal trainer in Calgary doesn’t offer you that leeway. You paid for the sessions – you wouldn’t want to waste your money.
They give you definable goals
It’s easy to go to the gym. You show up, you put on your gym clothes, and now what? A personal trainer works with you to see what your goals are and will take into account all your prior experience and what you like to do. They will help you define goals that are realistic for you and will help you climb your way up to an even bigger goal as you progress through your fitness journey.
A personal trainer teaches you how to do fitness right
Lifting heavy and lifting a lot is only one piece of the puzzle. You have to lift properly in order to make anything of the exercises you are doing. A personal trainer will demonstrate the movements you need to do for you and guide you through with corrections or alterations to avoid injury and ensure you get the most of every rep.
It is always better to do a movement right before you do it heavy. With a personal trainer, you can learn how to do the movements you want to do correctly so that you can progress easier and with less risk of injury.
They celebrate you
Not only does a personal trainer push you, but they also celebrate your accomplishments. With a personal trainer, you build a relationship with another individual who understands what your struggles are and what you want to do with your fitness journey. When you win, they win too.
There are so many great reasons why you should choose to work with a personal trainer in Calgary. Fitness can mean so many different things – and a personal trainer can help you figure out what works best for you.
